As the sun starts to warm up the country for summer, SAT’s are over and GCSEs are well-underway, we can start to look forward to summer. Oops, I forgot about one cloud on the horizon… school reports still need writing! Oh well, two out of three ain’t bad! Where could be better than Worcestershire to visit during July? Beautiful countryside, an attractive city and riverside and some great technology to see.
We have lined up some outstanding visits! On Day 1 you have a choice of visiting three schools, including Viv Cranton’s – our LLN Host.
Hollymount School (formerly Gorse Hill Community Primary School) (www.gorsehillprimary.
St Barnabas C of E Primary School (www.st-barnabas-
Tudor Grange Academy (www.
All three are led by outstanding, visionary Heads and we have no doubt that you will gain a great deal from the visits.
We will have our follow-up meeting in Worcester’s the Hive (www.thehiveworcester.
For Day 2 we will be hosted at Coomber’s Factory (www.coomberaudio.com) on the outskirts of Worcester where we will have the opportunity to see how the iconic machines are produced. Remember the ‘Toblerone-type’ cassette and CD players? We will then be pooling our knowledge and expertise to complete the App Map, that was started at our last event in Telford, and share ideas.
Of course, a major part of our termly events is the time to socialise and exchange ideas. We have secured the brand new Premier Inn, located in Worcester’s city centre (www.premierinn.com) for our overnight stay. The hotel is close to the river and we will stroll out for evening dinner to a nearby restaurant. All this for a great price for the whole event at only £165.00 (+£33.00 VAT) per person. You can now book online at Eventbrite by clicking here where you can identify your choice of school that you would like to visit on Day 1.
