Leading Leaders Network Meeting Spring 2016 – Anson

The Leading Leaders Spring Event is already planned so that you know what is coming in February 2016. So postpone the hike across the glaciers of Iceland, drinks with the Queen… and the ‘little chat’ with that ‘challenging teacher’ and book your place now.

Anson Primary School (www.ansonprimaryschool.com) is located in the London Borough of Brent, which is the most ethnically diverse 85 square miles in the whole of Europe. The school has a strong pedigree of using technology to inspire, motivate and challenge – not just the children but the staff, parents and local community. This two-form entry school caters for a wide socio-economic population and has, more recently, become a favourite for parents of children who have specific needs.

The staff are excited to have the chance to showcase what the school is currently developing, particularly in the world of virtual reality and the use of interactive touchscreens to develop teaching and learning.

During our two days together, we shall also experience some unique and exciting initiatives being developed by the school. These include their unique Web Lab, giving everyone a chance to get hands-on with the latest technology. You will be able to learn how to use Minecraft and Blipper in ways you could not imagine as well as seeing Anson Radio, painting robots and the school’s Digital Leaders in action.

Anson Primary School plays an important role in the development of Apple resources and the school hopes to welcome some Apple Distinguished Educators from around the UK who will present to you their ‘One Best Thing’ to inspire your curriculum, delivery via technology. The ADEs will then spend time with us to chat about their work and forge possible links with LLN members in their locality.

The hotel that we have chosen for you is the delightful Clayton Crown Hotel (http://www.claytoncrownhotel.com/). It is situated close to Cricklewood and Willesden Green Stations and is only half a mile from the school. There is also a car park attached to the hotel.

I really hope that you can join us for the Spring Event. Don’t forget that more than one person from each school can attend so you may wish to bring along a colleague. Perhaps you know a school in your locality who would benefit from the event. Why not contact them and invite them along?
