As we move slowly into Autumn we try to hold on to the summer as long as possible by organising the Autumn Leading Leaders event in the English Riviera – Torquay. Shiphay Learning Academy has been a long-time, loyal advocate of the Network and many members have been really looking forward, for a long time, to visiting this innovative, exciting school. Well now is our chance!
We have arranged an exciting programme that is too big to squeeze into 24 hours so we are extending the event to two nights, arriving on Wednesday evening (12th November) ready for an early start on the Thursday morning. This will enable us to spend more time together, networking, and also takes into account the geographical challenges that some people have in getting to Torquay.
Shiphay Learning Academy is a fantastic school! They have been leaders, supporting Devon schools, in many areas, not just technology. I encourage you to visit their website to get a flavour of just some of what they do (http://www.shiphay.com/).
Recognising the fact that some people will be able to arrive earlier and others later, we will have a number of opportunities to gather together on the Wednesday. For those who can arrive at 18.00 hrs on Wednesday evening, you will be collected from the station for a cream tea. Early arrivals, and those arriving by 20.00 hrs, will be collected from the station and visit the Hare and Hounds for dinner (http://www.thehareandhounds.co.uk/). Even later arrivals can meet us at the hotel.
Due to a large number of events going on in Torquay during our visit, we will have to spend Wednesday night at the Palace (http://www.palacetorquay.com/) and Thursday night at the Grand (http://www.grandtorquay.co.uk/). Both of these are stunning 4 Star establishments that will be fitting venues for our members. Don’t forget your gym and swimming outfits!
I really hope that you can join us for our Autumn Event. Many of us have been really looking forward to visiting Shiphay and I know that you will not be disappointed. Due to the extra night we have had to increase the cost slightly for this event to £250 per delegate but I hope you can see that it will still be very good value for money.
